Getting on a schedule

I am trying to get on a schedule to get everything done! I have been doing this for a few weeks and it is really working... For me it goes like this..
Monday-grocery store
Tuesday-clean out car
Wednesday-bake
Thursday- iron
Friday- I devote 20 minutes to cleaning or organizing my closet...

I know its seems really lame to do a schedule like this. I would like to think of my self as a free spirit but I am always putting this stuff off or dreading it.
Your schedule might be nails, laundry, dust, coupons, wash dog... it really doesn't matter. Just think about what is important but sometimes gets pushed back or you find yourself trying not to think about doing... I am telling you this will change your life!

SUMMER SANDY FUN!

Since summer is approaching I thought I would share this cute craft beach idea! When you take your babies to the beach wouldn't it be wonderful to have an amazing keepsake to remember your trip by??

What you need..

ziplock bag with plaster of paris
foot or hand prints in the sand
water... bottled or sea water works the same

Make the foot or hand print... mix up the plaster in bag... pour in foot print.. let dry...you should be left with a beautiful sandy baby foot print mold!

Never have a dirty bathroom again!

Maybe everyone does this.. I don't know??? I keep an extra set of bathroom cleaning supplies in my bathroom. Everynight when I give the kids a bath I take maybe 5 minutes and wipe down cabinets, windex, and clean the toliet. It seems silly but you would be surprised at how walking in to a clean bathroom when the rest of your house is destroyed can lift your spirits!

extra..1/4 cup brown sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on top..My husband eats it like this but my kids add extras in the morning.. dried fruit... milk... honey..fruit or veggie purees (we usually add sweet potato puree) but I am sure any fruit or semi sweet veggie puree would work. Bug Party

For my sons first birthday party we went with a bug theme...

The invite said... Our little bug is turning 1!
Fly on over....the date
Bee there...the time
To reserve your exterminator...r.s.v.p
You could also use words like buzz, crawl, slither, etc too!
For the decorations I bought bugs from all over... I wanted lots of variation! I scattered them all over the place.. I also used fly swatters as centerpieces..I found a web site with interesting bug facts.. printed them out and placed them all over the walls.. Interesting facts like " Did you know roaches vote on where the live!" People loved learning these crazy facts!
For the cake I was very inexperienced at baking. I wanted to make his cake but I knew I needed something super easy.. So I made a bug mountain cake I used a rectangular cake pan and a round cake pan to create a mountain.I iced it with chocolate icing then crumbled up 3 different types of chocolate cookies and sprinkled them all over the cake.. Then I arranged the bugs in , around, and walking up the mountain. Of coarse I had bugs and creepy crawlers floating in the punch too!

I also took a poster board and drew a big lady bug with the head cut out.. It said cute as a bug and I had all the guest put their face in the hole and take pictures. Even the parents got involved.I sent the pictures with the thank you cards. People really seemed to appreciate that.
For party favors I bought mason jars..poked holes in the top..filled them with a paper green shred to look like grass..then added bug stickers, bug candy, magnifying glass and lots of other junk... On the out side with sticker letters I wrote things like "Bee crazy" "Lets get buggy" "Give me a buzz" I can't really remember all of them!
Since we didn't have many kids there I did a game for the adults.. It was a questionnaire to see who knew the most about Aidan. Milestones, favorite food, favorite toys etc... The prizes were bug spray!
I really wanted to order live lady bugs and hand them out as party favors..I thought it would be nice for the guest to go home and release them in their yards but they were "out of season" I was upset about this but the party was a blast!
One more thing for some of the special guest (family and very close friends)I made a little picture book with pictures from Aidan's first year! For example There would be a picture of him taking his first steps. I printed up a little box on the bottom that said "I took my first steps on..." Then I took all the pictures to kinkos and shrunk them to about wallet size. I made a copy of his invite as the cover. I assembled little books buy poking 1 hole and putting those little metal t things in to bind it.You know you put it through the hole then bend the tongs outward...People loved these I still have mine! It was a very special keepsake!! Hope this gives you some ideas..

My mother taught me about patience...."just wait till your father gets home!"

My mother taught me about receiving...."you are really going to get it when we get home!"

My mother taught me to meet a challenge...."What we you thinking? Answer me when I talk to you! Don't talk back to me!"

My mather taught me logic..."If you fall out of that swing and break your neck you are not going shopping with me!"

My mother taught me medical science..."If you sit too close to the TV, you will become cross-eyed!"

My mother taught me to think long-term..."if you don't pass your spelling test you will never get a good job!"

My mother taught me about esp..."put your sweater on; don't you think I know when your cold?"

My mother taught me humor..." When you break a leg, don't come running to me."

My mother taught me genetics..."you are just like your father."

My mother taught about justice..."One day you will have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you... Then you will see what its like."

Child ID Temporary Safety Tattoos to prevent lost kids :: SafetyTat

This is pretty cool! Or we could just try not to lose our kids... Something I always do is dress my boys in the same shirt.. When I am going somewhere like the zoo I try to make it a bright color so it is super easy for me to spot 2 kids fast! Also if they happen to get lost they might be easier to find...

TV Screen Protector - Protect your TV from damage with TV Armor!

TV Screen Protector - Protect your TV from damage with TV Armor!

Right now Kirk is setting up our new t.v. The kids cracked the screen on Thursday. This product could have saved our t.v.... Kirk is trying to be nice but I can tell how mad he actually is. I am just trying to stay out of the way!... I can't say that I blame him but you have to ask yourself why we spend so much on a product that is sooooo fragile and can not be repaired.. To me it seems like you are setting yourself up... With all this technology they can't make the plasmas a little more durable??
